“CloudPassage is proud to announce the appointment of Amrit Williams as Chief Technology Officer. His deep experience and security technology vision will be a tremendous addition to the CloudPassage team as we continue to lead the way in the emerging software defined security market,” said Carson Sweet, Chief Executive Officer of CloudPassage.
“As large enterprises accelerate adoption of cloud and software-defined infrastructure, there is a clear and under-served demand for solutions that address security and compliance across diverse, highly dynamic and distributed cloud environments. Software defined security is quickly evolving as the model that will enable security organizations to keep up with software-defined infrastructure, thus allowing business leaders to embrace the compelling value that cloud infrastructure offers,” continued Sweet.
Williams has served as CTO and Director for emerging security technologies at IBM, and previously as CTO for BigFix, a leading provider of enterprise systems and security management solutions, which was acquired by IBM. He also served as CTO at Quantivo, the cloud-architected Big Data analytics solution provider.
Prior to his successes in CTO positions, Williams was a lead analyst for Gartner in their information security and risk, IT operations, and infrastructure research and consulting group. Prior to Gartner, Williams was the Director of Engineering at nCircle Network Security, which was acquired by Tripwire, and Director of Engineering Services at McAfee, which was acquired by Intel.
“I am excited to join the team of highly-capable engineers that are leading the way in developing and driving adoption of a new breed of security solution. A solution purpose-built to address security and compliance for cloud and software-defined infrastructure environments,” said Williams.
