Earlier this month, CloudPassage co-founder and CTO Carson Sweet sat down with Tracy Kitten, the executive editor of the Information Security Media Group, during the Healthcare Security Summit in New York City.
In the interview Carson provides an overview of the three types of cloud computing: Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Software-as-a-Service (Saas). He goes on to explain why healthcare and insurance providers in particular are attracted to cloud services but for different reasons.
In evaluating these industries and their cloud security strategies, he highlights their need to give special attention to the service-level agreements (SLA) in order to clearly understand the shared responsibilities for security between organizations and providers.
Finally, Carson discusses security trends specific to cloud computing, including recent examples of what has been happening with ransomware and how it may be evolving.
