New DarkReading report — Secure application development: New best practices

CloudPassage has sponsored a new report from DarkReading, Secure application development: New best practices, which you can download in full here.

In this report, learn about application development challenges that face security teams today and review several strategies on how to overcome them. What DarkReading calls “new best practices” need to be adopted to support the convergence of DevOps, agile, and the cloud in order for teams to be successful. Traditional methodologies are slow, inefficient and less secure. Therefore, a collaborative DevSecOps approach to secure application development is key.

There’s good news and there’s bad news here. Let’s start with the bad news: In this report, several surveys and studies were cited that highlight security failings in application development. It covers where the problems exist in pre-DevSecOps development, testing, operations and security practices.

But there’s good news in the report, too! DarkReading covers and lists how to make secure application development best practices happen for your team. These include getting executive buy-in, security orchestration/automation, getting more day-to-day DevSecOps involvement, a positive solutions-oriented focus, and choosing a holistic security automation platform.
